By default, TradingView charts use UTC time. To match your chart’s time zone to your computer’s:
Right-click on the chart.
Select Time Zone and choose your local time zone.
Once your chart time matches your computer’s, update the Kronos indicator settings:
Open the indicator settings panel.
Under Select Time Zone, choose the same time zone as your chart.
If it’s during daylight savings time in your region, check the In Daylight Savings box.
Matching both ensures Kronos signal times line up correctly with your local time.

🌀 TimeWarp
Problem: “Data Shortage” or missing lines
Open your chart’s Data Series window
Increase “Days to load” (recommend at least 30 days for intraday charts)
If still not working:
Navigate to:
Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > db
Delete the "cache" folder
Reload your chart
⚠️ Do not delete or modify anything else inside the “db” folder

📆 Daily Cycle Markers Not Showing
Ensure the indicator has been loaded on a daily chart at least once this month
💡 Best Practice: Keep one daily chart open with Daily Cycle Markers for each market you follow, and save it as part of your workspace

Increase Days to load in Data Series until the anchor point is reached
Open the Force interface (bottom right corner)
→ Click "Update" under AnchorsSave the updated Lines file so it references the current contract

🕒 Using TimeWarp on Time-Based vs. Non-Time-Based Charts
TimeWarp is a time-based indicator, which means it performs best on time-based charts like 3-minute or 5-minute bars. Time is constant and predictable, so the software knows exactly when to expect and place signals.
While TimeWarp does work on non-time-based charts (like Range, Renko, or Tick charts), things can get a bit more complicated. These types of charts don’t close at regular time intervals, so the computer has to constantly guess when to apply the next projected signal.
If a bar takes longer to close, signals can begin to stack up while waiting—because time doesn’t stop just because market activity slows down or speeds up. Time keeps ticking, even if the chart isn’t printing new bars.
Einstein figured this out before we did 😉
(And unfortunately, we haven’t been able to change the theory of relativity either.)
✅ Recommended Solution: The Two-Chart Method
If you prefer non-time-based charts, here’s what we suggest:
Chart 1: Load TimeWarp on a time-based chart (like a 3- or 5-minute chart). Choose a time frame that roughly matches how long your non-time bars typically take to close.
Chart 2: Use your non-time-based chart to dial in the actual trade entry price.
This method helps you:
See timing signals clearly without clutter or stacking
Get precise price entries using your preferred chart style
Combine the best of Time and Price for better trade execution
Yes, 30-second chart analysis is possible, but it’s one of the most resource-intensive ways to run NinjaTrader. Each bar represents a very small slice of time, which means the platform must process and render far more data points and indicator calculations than on higher timeframes.
For best performance, we recommend:
A state-of-the-art workstation with at least 64 GB of RAM and a processor speed of 3.5 GHz or higher.
Limiting historical data on 30-second timeframes to no more than 21 days.
Leaving the TachEon TimeWarp Panel off second-based charts.
Avoiding timeframes lower than 30 seconds.
Following these guidelines reduces processing demands and helps prevent freezing or unresponsiveness.
If we’ve asked you to send your log and trace files to help diagnose an issue, follow these steps:
📍 Step 1: Locate the Files on Your Computer
On your computer, open File Explorer
Navigate to the following folder:
Documents → NinjaTrader 8 → log
Documents → NinjaTrader 8 → trace
These folders contain the files we need to review your recent platform activity.
📤 Step 2: Compress the Files
Select all files inside both the log and trace folders
(UseCtrl + A
in each folder to select everything)Right-click the selected files and choose:
Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder
Name the zip file something like:
YourName_NT8_Logs.zip
📧 Step 3: Send the Files
Email the zipped file to:
📬 info@backtothefuturetrading.com
Include a brief description of the issue you’re experiencing, and any relevant steps to reproduce it.
We’ll take a look and get back to you as soon as we’ve reviewed the logs.
🔐 Don’t worry—these files only contain technical data to help us troubleshoot, not personal or trading information.
If you need to uninstall any indicators or tools you no longer use (or no longer have a license for), follow these steps:
Open the NinjaTrader 8 Control Center
Go to:
Tools → Remove NinjaScript Assembly...
In the list that appears, select the tool(s) you want to remove
Click Remove
NinjaTrader will confirm once the process is complete
This is a helpful way to keep your platform clean and avoid conflicts with unlicensed or outdated tools.
NinjaTrader and OneDrive don’t always play nicely—while some users have no issues, others run into nonstop problems.
🤔Why?
The core issue is that NinjaTrader stores critical files locally, but OneDrive automatically tries to sync all folder to the cloud. When OneDrive grabs a file to upload it, that file can become locked or unavailable, even if just for a second. If NinjaTrader—or one of its indicators or add-ons—tries to access or modify that file at that exact moment, it can fail, causing errors, crashes, or data corruption.
Additionally, NinjaTrader is designed to run locally, not from synced or remote folders. Attempting to duplicate or transfer your NinjaTrader setup through OneDrive often fails because some files (like license keys and account settings) are stored in non-transferable locations such as the system BIOS or program directories.
🔌 How to Completely Unlink OneDrive from Your Computer
To prevent OneDrive from interfering with NinjaTrader, it’s best to fully unlink it from your PC. Here's how:
Click the OneDrive icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner near the clock).
Select the gear icon ⚙️ (Settings) > choose Settings from the dropdown.
In the new window, go to the Account tab.
Click "Unlink this PC".
When prompted, confirm by clicking Unlink account.
This will stop OneDrive from syncing any files on your system. Your local files will stay where they are, but they will no longer be backed up or managed by OneDrive.
This message means one or more custom indicators or strategies you've previously added to NinjaTrader contain programming errors or are conflicting with each other.
While this issue is not caused by our Back to the Future Trading tools, it can prevent new tools (including ours) from importing correctly until the problem is resolved.
🔧 How to fix it:
